She doesn’t appreciate them like I do, so I’m hoping tasting the different complexions will change that.

My take on bourbon, or any that tasting, is to both try it once. You tell what you taste - vanilla, Smokey, cherry, chocolate, etc. Then you both try again to see what they taste not that they know what they could be looking for. In my experience it's always "it tastes like bourbon" the first time and the second is 1 or 2 of what I mentioned and at least 1 new flavor element they noticed

Next time you’re at the liquor store, find the handle of McKenna Henry’s for $17 or so. It’s made by buffalo trace and is the best cheap bourbon you can buy I have found.

Not a bourbon guy, but it’s great to see people “tasting” fine spirits. Quality not quantity, and learning.
